Empowering Healthcare Professionals Through Medical Simulation
From 1st Oct 2009, the Singapore General Hospital-Life Support Training Centre (SGH-LSTC) will be renamed Institute for Medical Simulation & Education (IMSE).
The IMSE at SGH is dedicated to providing quality education and training on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), critical care, medical simulation, trauma and disaster training. The centre’s programmes aim to ensure that individuals have the necessary skills and confidence to deliver life support in emergency and disaster situations.
To date, more than 10,000 medical, nursing and allied healthcare professionals, paramedics, teachers, lifeguards, students and members of the public have benefited from IMSE’s skills training programmes.
Key features of IMSE’s programmes:
A holistic learning experience
With a strong emphasis on all-rounded life support training, sessions include theoretical concepts, practical knowledge and techniques, as well as analytical and problem solving skills. Through a unique methodology of lectures and interactive learning, participants will learn how to achieve optimal outcomes during emergencies.
Small class size
The average instructor to participant ratio of 5:6 allows for an enhanced level of personalised attention and hands-on skill acquisition, increasing learning effectiveness for learners.
Excellence in content and training delivery
Course participants have consistently ranked IMSE courses as excellent in subject matter expertise and delivery.
