Overview
A robust five-year program, the Ophthalmology Residency Program at SingHealth provides you a broad education that covers all aspects of general ophthalmology and the ophthalmic subspecialties. You will participate in clinical and surgical training, attend didactic lectures and embrace the many research opportunities that SingHealth has to offer.
During your residency, you get to enjoy the abundant training resources available only at a large specialized ophthalmic centre like SNEC. The centre has a highly-structured educational environment, providing ample opportunities for the development of a competent ophthalmologist and ethical physician.
Our aim is to provide a collegial atmosphere for your professional development. The close relationship that you develop with your mentors will last well beyond your training as a resident.

Research Opportunities
The Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) has clinical and research facilities at the SNEC. You will find research opportunities readily available and can choose to undertake independent investigation or participate in ongoing clinical or basic science research projects. With supervision by our clinicians and scientists, many past residents have presented the results of their work at international meetings and published their work in peer-reviewed journals.
